Ubicado en el departamento de Valle del Cauca. El Municipio es conocido Cultural, Turística y Económicamente porque en su jurisdicción se encuentra la Hacienda El Paraíso, lugar donde trascurrieron los hechos de la novela María, obra maestra del escritor vallecaucano Jorge Isaacs. También parte de su territorio pertenece al Parque Nacional Natural Las Hermosas. Se ubica al oriente de Cali, la capital del departamento, a unos 47 km de distancia.

Un viaje inolvidable al Eje Cafetero a través de la ruta del café Colombia

                                  ¿Qué es la ruta del Café?

La ruta del Café Colombia es un recorrido sensorial en medio de la naturaleza, en torno a los paisajes naturales y las tradiciones de la tierra del café, un producto de gran importancia para la cultura y economía colombiana. Esta Ruta comprende tres departamentos principales en el Eje Cafetero: Risaralda, Caldas y Quindío y sus respectivas capitales: Pereira, Manizales y Armenia. Estas ciudades son parte de los 62 municipios del Eje Cafetero, donde se produce el café que es exportado a nivel internacional.

Un dato muy importante es que la ruta del Café está dentro del Paisaje Cultural Cafetero, declarado por la UNESCO (Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura) como patrimonio de la humanidad el 25 de junio del 2011, un logro que ha sido resultado de un trabajo de más de 10 años, de toda la comunidad y que exalta sin lugar a duda los esfuerzos de diferentes generaciones de caficultores que han tracendido este legado en Colombia y el mundo.
